Not the only ELF active this Christmas.

Somewhere, in the north pole Santa and his elves are finally sitting down to some hot chocolate and a well deserved rest after delivering a few billion presents. However not far from them a different kind of ELF is going strong. The HAARP or High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program is only a couple hundred (220 from North Pole, Alaska "Where the Spirit of Christmas Lives Year Round") in Gakona, Alaska. Part of this program is heating the ionosphere, and studying the effects, and researching ELF or extremely low frequency for long distance communication (specifically with submarines).

This is not the only government station working with ELF's, there is one in Clam Lake, Wisconsin, one in Republic, in Michigan's upper peninsula. There is also a Russian station, ZEVS located north/west of Murmansk - 69°N 33°E, at the Kola Peninsula in north-western Russia. To get an idea of how low these frequency's are, the Russian station ZEVS operates at 82 Hz, making the wavelength over 1/4 the worlds diameter.

Now that's a long wavelength. Both the HAARP program and ELF's are surrounded by conspiracy theories, including everything from weather control, to mind control. (Kind of the two fundamental touch points for conspiracy's no?) Here is a funny sample from a letter to the HAARP director which he answers as nicely as possible.

Hello,
Thanks for your recent comment on our webpage. You wrote:

Q. This project sounds like a lot of effort and dollars are being used. Under what government agency is this being funded.

A. The joint program sponsors are the Navy, the Air Force and DARPA.

Q. From some of my reading about your facility I became fascinated. Especially- your info on being able to focus the energy to a location on the Earth and affecting the results of a nuclear reaction. Fantastic!!!!! Has any of this been used?

A. A lot of "information" about HAARP on the Internet is pure speculation and most of it is grossly exaggerated. HAARP has no capability to focus energy to locations on Earth. HAARP is strictly a research facility which can study the ionosphere directly over the facility. There are no effects anywhere else.

Q. I know because of security that you can't tell very much.

A. There is no classified research at the facility. By the way, we are having an open house Sept 27-28. You are welcome to come and bring your camera if you're in the area.

According to some (nutjobs Dr. Andrija Puharich, MD, and his pal, Uri "Spoonbender" Geller among the fore) frequency's between 6 and 11 Hz have been used for mind control, 6 Hz causing depression, 8 Hz causing a meditation type state, and 10-11 Hz causing riotous behavior.

But I have a separate conspiracy theory, these facility's are all covers for Santas workshops. Think about it, one in the North Pole, with a convenient cover town to distract visitors, two in the snowy cold Midwest and one in upper Russia! It's obvious, All the stations are in cold weather areas. The acronyms are HAARP and ELF, how much merrier can you get. They may send out a signal which makes you mysteriously happy, and the projects have to do with long range transmission...uh...duh, could it be of presents!? With the growing population sometime in the 50's Santa realized he was going to have to figure out a better way to distribute presents. He quickly realized that by bouncing them off of the ionosphere and into their respective chimneys he could save himself a tremendous amount of time. He teamed up with the DoD and got cracking.

NORAD quickly covered for Santa by setting up the NORAD Santa tracker, which is a distraction from his real methods. So don't be fooled ELF doesn't mean extremely low frequency, it really means ELF, as in the little pointy eared guys. The next time you wake up to a room full of presents, don't just thank Santa, thank the Department of Defense.
