A Call for Baking

Last night Dylan and I were jonzing for some cookies. My roommate, Tara, has these delicious Waffle Butter cookies that are so good they taste like the majesty of the crane and the dignity of the unicorn. But alas, I knew if we broke into them, we would promptly devour them all. So I cam up with a novel thought, let's make our own butter cookies! And that's just what we did. And you can do it too. You too can achieve instant gratification and instant mouth-to-stomach satisifaction in just a few simple steps. Here's how:

Find a butter cookie recipe. It will most likely be stuff you already have at home, eggs, flour, butter, sugar, vanilla extract and salt.

Make sure to mush everything with your hands. Mixers are for pusses who are afraid to really cook like a man (or child who likes to get messy).

Make cookies. You should only put like half a teespoon on there and spread them out every 2 inches. That way they come out really thin and small, like wafers, and you can just pop them in your mouth like good happy times. Plus, because they're so small, the only take 8 minutes to bake. They're done before you know it.

Maybe sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on some to mix it up a little.

Eat all of the cookies.

Be proud that instead of going out and buying a package of cookies at the corner store like almost everyone else your age, you took matters into your own hands and took some action. It feels good to make something.

It's a lot more fun than you think it will be. Mostly because you get to eat warm cookies.
