Savior Scraps, a brooklyn artists collective that creates projects with all donated material, has made a rustic log cabin and store in the middle of Secret Project Robot, a Williamsberg gallery. The pieces for sale are small art pieces and hand crafted clothes, jewelery and furniture
Saviour Scraps, founded by Brooklyn artists Katie Kline, Jojo Li, Brieana Ruais, Shabd Simon-Alexander is the combination ofa ladies sewing circle and an installtion arts collective, with members that Work individually in media as diverse as sculpture, video, photography, and drawing, Together they make full scale fabric installations such as a huge indoor garden with soft beds of grass, complete with swingsets, mimiking sweet wholesome country living. Last year Shabd had performences re-inacting Rapunzel, where she constructed a braid of 2 storey long golden fabric, atached to her own hair and had her "prince" climb up at the end of each performance. Keep an eye on these ladies.
